We’ve seen iconic musicians like Bowie and Prince celebrated for their work, we’ve taken over the prestigious Birmingham Town Hall with the best in soul music. We’ve seen music scene revivals, organised Northern Soul Flash mobs, programmed venues at festivals, seen new bands emerging and flourishing, and of course, so many incredible nights of dancing and good times we’ve lost count!
The Night Owl is three years strong, and it’s our lovely singers, dancers, movers and shakers who have help made this club into the incredible place it is today! Thanks to you, our tiny but mighty club is thriving, and we love hearing that it’s your favourite place to drink, dance, catch up with friends, see new live acts and revisit the music you’ve loved over the years!
As we’re turning three in July and we’re celebrating the only way we know how, two allnighter events on 13th and 14th of July! We have live music from bands we all love, plus DJs playing our favourite soul and retro genres all weekend long.
The party starts on Friday, July 13th with the one and only Atlantic Players. The Moseley based soul and blues ensemble were the soundtrack to our very first night, so it made sense they brought their Southern Soul style to our birthday. They’re accompanied by DJs Richard Priest, Josh Pye, Steve Jools ‘Sweat’ Belgium and Johnny Weston spinning their favourite tracks at our Northern Soul, mod and Motown party.
Kicking off part two of our weekender and are the immense Backbone Slips, a powerful hammond-driven soul force to be reckoned with! A whole host of DJs including Glyn Preece, Mazzy Snape, Jo Prinsen, Sonny & Spare and many more will be giving you a heavy dose of soul and retro tracks at the amplified Dig? 12 Hours of Power. We’re even going to have a BBQ to keep you going through 12 whole hours of moving and shaking!
We’d love for you to join in on the festivities, and can’t wait to celebrate three whole years of good music, great people and incredible memories! If you want to join in, you can grab your tickets now from The Ticket Sellers. Better Hurry, as early bird tickets for both days have already sold out!
