Celebrating 50 years of Woodstock

Arguably one of the biggest festivals of all time, and three days that changed history. 1969's Woodstock festival hosted three days worth of peace, love and music in USA featuring Jimi Hendrix, The who, Janis Joplin, Santana and many more. Nearly fifty years on, we decided to celebrate and commemorate such a big part of music history!

On August 3rd, we put our music know-how and passion for the 60s together to bring you our first ever festival: Owlstock! To celebrate 50 years of Woodstock, we're bringing you the best rock and roll tributes, local soul bands we can't get enough and DJs to bring the spirit of '69 to Digbeth.

Local acts Cate & Co, The Backbone Slips and High Horses are going to bring the perfect festival vibes. With Cate & Co having such a powerful voice of Janis Joplin's, The Backbone Slips bringing the tenacity with their Hammond led grooves before High Horses bring their rough and ready, party starting folk. It's a combination of three Midlands' bands and artists that sum up Woodstock perfectly!

Next up are The Strange Doors, one of our favourite tribute bands to have on our stage! The quartet summon up the spirit of The Lizard King himself with improv, ad libbing and even writing on the floor, bringing you an experience of The Doors almost as good as the real deal.

Headlining the night are Are You Experienced? Europe's number one tribute to the one and only Jimi Hendrix. This trio are everything you want and more from a Hendrix tribute - from the clothes to the iconic sound, and of course the dynamic and unforgettable stage persona of Hendrix. We can't think of anyone better to headline our first ever festival!

If that's not all, DJs Richard Bamber, Tracey Screamcheese and Joey Smith will be playing the best in 1960s, rock and roll and whilst you enjoy delicious street food in the garden and peruse the local trader's stalls. There will even be a tarot reader on the mezzanine, visuals and cocktails for a full immersive experience!

Owlstock takes place from 12pm on Saturday, August 3rd. Kids are welcome and free with a paying adult until 8pm. Tickets include entry to Dig? club night after until 4am.
