34 bands, 34 tracks, all raising money for the venues you love. Our friends over at Die Das Der, a record label and collective of musicians, artists, journalists, music lovers and everything in between, have released a bumper compilation CD with 34 tracks from Brum's best bands.
To coincide with Bandcamp wavering their fees for artists, Die Das Der released what can only be described as an anthology of Birmingham music. Some of the stellar artists on the line up include Wax Futures, Modern Literature (who played at our Bowie Tribute Night), The Temple Street Resistance (who supported The 45s), The Nature Centre, Kendo Nagasaki, you Dirty Blue, The Humdrum Express and more.
All money raised from sales of 'Without Venues, We're Nothing' will be split between several venues that Die Das Der have worked with over the years. They added: "It's also to support some of the brilliant self-employed individuals who depend on those venues and the Birmingham music and art scene for their livelihoods and are currently struggling due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Thank you to all the bands involved for their contributions."
There are only a few copies left of the first run of the compilation, so act fast if you want to grab yours! If you miss out this time keep an eye on their Bandcamp page for a new release next month.
We've loved working with Die Das Der both with their collective and with the artists they represent. As always, we support independents from all walks of life, we can all get through this uncertain time if we stick together.
