Music is one of the best things about Brum. We're incredibly lucky to have such a bustling community of artists, venues, producers, promoters, labels, radio stations and everything in between that fills the city with great music! The Birmingham Music Awards takes the time to congratulate those who work hard to keep music going in Birmingham, celebrating with an annual awards show.
So, you can imagine our delight when we found as we've collectively been nominated across four of the categories! The Night Owl itself is nominated for best venue, sharing this nomination with our neighbours The Mill and Mama Roux as well as other credible venues Hare and Hounds, The Flapper and The Sunflower Lounge and more
Our infamous disco, funk, soul and boogie night Le Freak has been nominated for best club night in Birmingham, something which we would be really proud to achieve! Our Soul Train and The Get Down inspired dance offs are one of our favourite nights to strut our stuff to and we love seeing everyone come together and dance to disco under the mirror ball every month.
Last but not least, our events and marketing manager Mazzy Snape has been nominated for not one, but two awards! She's been nominated for best DJ and best promoter, something which we think shows through our weekly club nights, special events and live music gigs that always have people coming back for more.
The Birmingham Music Awards take place in May, so we'll have to wait until then to find out the winners for all the categories! Good luck to everyone nominated and here's hoping the Birmingham music scene keeps on thriving.
