On Saturday, May 25th we're heading back to the prestigious hall for an all nighter of soul, Motown and more along with a list of stellar DJs that can't be rivalled. The best part? You're all invited!
Blackpool Mecca was (and is) one of the champion torchbearers for the Northern Soul scene. People would travel from all over the country to dance on the Mecca's wooden floors to the tunes that legendary DJs, just like Colin Curtis, would collect and play. We're more than pleased to announce he will be headlining the main room of the Big Birmingham Soul Night, a rare chance to see such an iconic DJ in action!
Other DJs filling the two rooms with soul are Neil Rushton (Blackpool Mecca/Salvation), PEP (Wigan Casino/Catacombs), Sonny & Spare, Richard Priest, Jo Prinsen, Mazzy Snape and many more playing the music you love well into the night.
Past Big Birmingham Soul Nights have sold out way in advance, don't miss out on one of the biggest dates in the soul calendar and get your tickets now for May 25th!
Whilst we're on the subject of legendary soul, we can't forget about Junior Walker. His Motown recordings back in the 1960s are some of our favourites, and we're incredibly excited to announce Junior Walker's All Star Band are coming to The Night Owl!
Detroit A-Go-Go are celebrating the 60th anniversary of Motown by hitting the road with some of Junior's biggest hits. The nine piece outfit, including the only surviving member Acklee King will be performing 'Road Runner', 'How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)' and more on Saturday, June 1st, followed by DJs Neil Rushton, Mazzy Snape and Roger Hayward.
